Our Story
Built on Principle.
Piekut Developments was founded on a single conviction: that the homes we build today must be worthy of the decades ahead.
Where We Come From
Piekut Developments was established by a team of builders, engineers, and architects who grew tired of watching the industry settle. Settle for minimum compliance. Settle for adequate materials. Settle for homes that would need retrofitting within a generation.
We set out to do the opposite. Every project we take on is treated as a long-term investment in the built environment — not just for the client who commissions it, but for the street it sits on, the neighbourhood it shapes, and the family that will live in it fifty years from now.
We are not the largest firm. We do not want to be. We take on a limited number of projects each year so that every one receives the full weight of our attention.
Our Philosophy
Always Ahead. Never Just Compliant.
I
Ahead of the Regulations
We build as close to 2050 energy requirements as today's technology allows. Not because we are required to — because it is the right thing to do. Our clients never face a retrofit.
II
Materials Without Compromise
We source globally. If the finest limestone comes from Portugal and the best structural timber from Austria, that is where we go. No substitutions for convenience.
III
One Client at a Time
We do not run multiple major projects simultaneously. When you commission Piekut Developments, you have our full attention — not a share of it.
IV
Resolved Before We Build
Every detail is designed, engineered, and specified before a single foundation is poured. Surprises on site are a failure of preparation. We do not accept them.
Craftsmanship
The Standard We Hold Ourselves To
Craftsmanship is not a marketing word for us. It is a measurable standard. Every joint, every threshold, every reveal is checked against a specification that goes beyond what building control requires.
We work with a small, trusted network of specialist subcontractors — stonemasons, structural glaziers, bespoke joiners, and metalworkers — who share our intolerance for the merely adequate. Many have worked with us for over a decade.
Net-Zero Commitment
Building for the Energy Landscape of 2050
Every project we deliver is designed to exceed current Part L requirements by a significant margin. We specify MVHR as standard, integrate renewables from the ground up, and target airtightness levels that most contractors consider aspirational.
We are not net-zero certified — we are simply building the way the entire industry will be required to build within a generation. We chose to start now.
- MVHR Specified as Standard
